Clubs and Activities
Here at Harmon we want our students to have the opportunity to explore various learning activities outside of the classroom in a fun and creative environment. We offer various clubs and activities throughout the school year and encourage participation.
Club members (4th - 6th grade) make their own app to solve a real-world problem and learn how to publish that app. Block based coding programs inspire
intellectual and creative empowerment allowing students to move from technology consumption to technology creation.
This club introduces students to the understanding of how food is grown and how it can be grown in different climates. Members learn about sustainability and how food begins as seed, through growth and then on to the table.
This club introduces 1st and 2nd grade children to popular children's text. Club members participate in reading stories and learn to adapt them into staged plays. An on stage performance is held at the end of the season in April.
Experience the wonders of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) during this after school club. Students are offered the chance to explore their creativity and experience hands-on activities that are related to STEM. The goal is to provide a stimulating after school program for students who are eager to learn more. Each week students participate in a fun and engaging STEM activity that challenges them and requires them to work together.
After School Sports
Harmon's after school sports program is designed to involve over 70 students from grades 5th-6th this year. Students are learning the rules, etiquette and values of football, basketball and soccer. The program also allows our school to play other schools such as Ellsworth and Simonton. Students are taught to keep their grades up if they intend to participate as well as learn to be a respectful student. The program also allows students to be active and healthy, and above all have fun.
Art Club is the place to show your creativity! This club is open to 3rd & 4th grade Students. Students are hands on using the mediums of paint, clay, crayons, chalk, colored pencils and markers.
